On Thursday, August 10, 2023, deputies arrived at a home in Marianna to serve Justin Burns a felony warrant for Violation of Probation for Grand Theft.
When they arrived, other residents of the home told deputies that Burns had fled the property when deputies arrived.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Tracking Unit was called to the scene and established a perimeter.
Burns was eventually located laying on the ground in a wooded area and attempted to flee again, but a deputy used his taser to incapacitate him.
Burns was arrested on his felony warrant for Violation of Probation out of Calhoun County and is additionally being charged with Resisting Arrest Without Violence.
