A Chipley woman is in custody after deputies located a handgun in the possession by a convicted felon during a traffic stop.
On August 6, 2023, at approximately 10:18 a.m., deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of State Rd. 79 and Cypress Springs Rd. During the stop, deputies witness the subject to be very nervous.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in deputies locating a firearm.
32-year-old Megan Melissa Fischer was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
