On Thursday, August 17, Holmes County Inmate William Morris was at an inmate work detail in Bonifay when he escaped.
Holmes County deputies quickly determined that Morris got a ride from someone and was dropped off on Corbin Road in Washington County.
Because Morris is from the Kynesville area of Jackson County, law enforcement believed that Morris would be returning to the area.
Patrol deputies, investigators and K-9 units from Jackson, Washington and Holmes Counties, the Aviation Units from Jackson and Bay Counties, the Florida Highway Patrol and U.S. Marshals searched the area, but were unable to locate Morris.
The search for Morris continued into the morning hours of Friday, August 18.
Around 10:30 a.m., Jackson County deputies located Morris at a home in Kynesville and he was taken into custody without incident.
Morris will be sent back to Holmes County to answer for the charge of Escape.
