Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Washington and Holmes counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Washington County:
- U.S. 90 Resurfacing from State Road (S.R.) 277 (Vernon Highway) to End of Four-Lane east of Chipley – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Aug. 21 through Friday, Aug. 25 for sidewalk operations.
- U.S. 90 Bridge Replacement over Holmes Creek Bridge – Drivers may encounter a traffic switch to the temporary ACROW bridge for construction operations the week of Sunday, Aug. 20.
- S.R. 77 from Bay County Line to north of Moss Hill Road – Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures south of Rolling Pines Road Monday, Aug. 21 from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. for guardrail placement and barrier wall removal. Flaggers and advanced warning signage will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- Orange Hill Road Bridge Painting over Interstate 10 Overpass –Motorists will encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures Sunday, Aug. 20 through Thursday, Aug. 24 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for construction activities.
Holmes County:
- Thomas Drive Bridge Replacement over Open Creek – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Aug. 21 and Thursday, Aug. 24 for construction activities.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
