Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Washington and Holmes counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Washington County:
- U.S. 90 Resurfacing from State Road (S.R.) 277 (Vernon Highway) to End of Four-Lane east of Chipley – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 1 for sidewalk operations.
- U.S. 90 Bridge Replacement over Holmes Creek – Drivers may encounter a traffic switch to the temporary ACROW bridge for construction operations the week of Sunday, Aug. 27.
- Orange Hill Road Bridge Painting over Interstate 10 Overpass – Motorists will encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures Sunday, Aug. 27 through Friday, Sept. 1 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for construction activities.
Holmes County:
- Thomas Drive Bridge Replacement over Open Creek – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Aug. 27 and Thursday, Aug. 31 for construction activities.
- Tram Road Bridge Replacement over Reedy Creek and Miller Bay – Tram Road over Miller Bay is planned to be open Monday, Aug. 28. The detour for Tram Road over little Reedy Creek is to be in place the week of Monday, Aug. 28 for construction operations.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
