National Hurricane Center advises that Tropical Depression Ten, now close to entering the Gulf Of Mexico, is a potentially dangerous storm.
Tropical Depression 10 is forecast to become a tropical storm today and a hurricane by Tuesday.
While the cone of uncertainty is very wide, it does include Northwest Florida, including Washington, Holmes, Jackson, and Bay County, Florida.
Dangerous rip currents are expected along the beaches this week. While storm surge, heavy rain, strong winds, and tornadoes are possible, it is too early to determine exact location and magnitude of these hazards.
Both the track and the strength could change significantly in the coming days. Now is the time to make preparations for any possible impact.
Local news outlets, local Sheriff’s Offices, Police Departments, and other emergency information sources will provide updates as soon and as often as possible.
Make sure you have an emergency plan and sufficient supplies to withstand a significant storm and storm aftermath.
Don’t forget to have a plan and include pets, elderly family members, etc. in your preparations.
