Chipley, Florida Police Department Arrests Ri’chad Snelling of Caryville on Charges of Burglary and Theft

Juvenile, Ri’chad Snelling, 16 of Caryville has been charged with 1 count of Burglary and 1 count of theft, following an investigation into a car burglary that occurred on August 13, 2023.
 
Since August 4, 2023, the Chipley Police Department had received complaints of subjects observed on home surveillance systems attempting to open vehicle doors at multiple residences. In response to the complaints, Officers increased patrols in the neighborhoods where these complaints originated.
 
On August 12, 2023, the Chipley Police Department received a call from a Coggin Avenue resident indicating that there were 3 male subjects in the vicinity of Coggin Avenue and 5th Street wearing ski masks.
 
Officers responded to the scene and located the subjects who then fled the scene.
 
Officers were able to apprehend one of the subjects on Old Bonifay Road and identified him as Ri’chad Snelling.
 
A search of a backpack belonging to Snelling revealed that he was in possession of (2) I-phones and (2) packs of Camel cigarettes among other associated property.
 
On August 13, 2023, Officers with the Chipley Police Department responded to a vehicle burglary on Pear Street.
 
The victim reported that he was missing a (1) I-phone 6 and (2) packs of Camel Cigarettes.
 
Officers were able to recover both the I-phone and cigarettes that were in the possession of the suspect.
 
The juvenile has been charged with 1 count of Burglary and Theft and left in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
