He probably should have ended up in prison the first time, but Dr. Anthony Fauci once again urged people to mask up as the coronavirus continues to spread and develop into new variants.
Fauci, in an interview with CNN, said people should continue to wear a mask in public and in crowded spaces to boost their chances at themselves and others from contracting the virus.
“I am concerned that people will not abide by recommendations,” said Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health.
Fauci went on to say that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to recommend that people wear masks, three and a half years after the COVID-19 pandemic first began.
“When you have a situation where the volume of cases in society gets to a reasonably high level, particularly the vulnerable — those who are elderly and those with underlying conditions — are going to be more susceptible and vulnerable, if they do get infected, to get severe disease leading to hospitalization,” he said.
He continued: “So I would hope that if, in fact, we get to a point where the volume of cases is such and organizations like the CDC recommend — CDC doesn’t mandate anything — recommends that people wear masks, I would hope that they abide by the recommendation and take into account the risk to themselves and to their families.”
Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, shame on us.
