Robert Jerry Wiggins, age 73 of Bonifay, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at his home in Bonifay. Born, Sunday, November 6, 1949 in Fort Myers, Florida, he was the son of the late Reverend Everett Wiggins and the late Gladys White Wiggins. Jerry was one of ten children who grew up in the Church of God of Prophecy where his father was a preacher in both Florida and Alabama. As a young man, he served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Three days after he was honorably discharged from the US Army he married the love of his life, Denise Louise Travis, in Colorado and whisked her away to Florida where they had two children together. Eventually, he began his own company, Wiggins Dragline Service. As a talented heavy equipment operator, he later joined the Pipeliner’s Union and travelled all over the United States and even the world for work. In his younger days he loved fishing and playing guitar.
After retirement, he simply loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Many stories can be told of what a practical joker he was. He was not only the life of the party, he was the most humble, kind, considerate, thoughtful, loving, positive human being. He always put others needs before his. He will be missed by so many.
