Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Bobby Swisher of Pensacola for Attempted Burglary, Trespassing and Resisting Arrest

On September 9, 2023, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a Chevy Suburban after observing the vehicle run off the road multiple times on Sandpath Rd. in Bonifay.
 
The vehicle failed to stop when deputies’ lights and sirens were activated, instead accelerating as they traveled through town and running a red light at the intersection of Hwy 79 and Hwy 90.
 
The pursuit continued down several streets in Bonifay, then eastbound on Hwy 90.
 
The suspect vehicle abruptly turned into a private driveway, went behind the residence, continued through a fence into a pasture, and ultimately into a ditch.
 
The passenger and driver fled the vehicle and ran across Hwy 90, K9 tracked driver and is believed to have been picked up by another vehicle and has not been located.
 
Shortly after the vehicle crashed, dispatchers advised deputies that a homeowner near the area reported an attempted break in at their home.
 
Deputies responded and the homeowner along with deputies located the passenger Bobby Swisher of Pensacola hiding on the property.
 
Swisher refused to cooperate with commands, but was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Holmes County Jail.
 
In addition to active warrants out of Navajo County, Arizona, Swisher is charged with attempted burglary, trespassing, and resisting an officer without violence.
