Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Washington and Holmes counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Washington County:
- U.S. 90 Resurfacing from State Road (S.R.) 277 (Vernon Highway) to End of Four-Lane east of Chipley – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Sept. 18 through Friday, Sept. 22 for paving operations.
- Orange Hill Road (County Road 273) Bridge Painting over Interstate 10 (I-10) Overpass – Motorists will encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures on I-10 Monday, Sept. 18 through Friday, Sept. 22 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for construction activities.
- Buddy Road Bridge Replacement over Brock Mill Branch – Buddy Road over Brock Mill Branch will be closed as crews replace the bridge. Traffic is directed through a posted detour route.
- S.R. 79 for Routine Maintenance from Court Avenue to McFatter Avenue – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, Sept. 19 through Thursday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine maintenance.
Holmes County:
- Thomas Drive Bridge Replacement over Open Creek – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Sept. 18 through Thursday, Sept. 21 for construction activities.
- Tram Road Bridge Replacement over Reedy Creek and Miller Bay – Tram Road over Miller Bay is open. The detour for Tram Road over little Reedy Creek is in place for construction operations.
- Robbins Bridge Road Bridge Replacement over Ten Mile Creek Bridge – The detour for Robbins Bridge Road will be installed on Monday, Sept. 18 for construction operations. The traveling public will need to follow posted detour signs.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
