The Florida Highway Patrol has released information concerning five teens involved in an automobile accident which left one teen dead on Saturday evening, September 23, 2023.
The passengers were all from Chipley, Florida, in Washington County, with a 17- and a 15-year-old sustaining serious injuries and a 15-year-old in critical condition.
FHP spokespersons say that the teens were traveling around 8PM on Saturday evening in a sports utility vehicle on Collins Road in Washington County, west of Buddy Road.
FHP spokespersons report that the driver, 17-year-old Panama City resident, was killed when ejected from the vehicle.
The vehicle left the road and spokespersons say that the driver tried to correct the error, but inadvertently overcorrected, losing control.
