A very large alligator was seen outside Tampa, in Pinellas County, Florida with a human corpse in its mouth.

The 14-foot-long alligator was killed by authorities, and the human body was recovered.

Authorities are now investigating whether the animal killed the person or simply found the body after it was deceased.

The 14-foot-long reptile was seen by a witness, JaMarcus Bullard, who was on his way to a job interview when he saw it by a canal.

Bullard said he went down to report the animal to the fire department and then called 911.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said that the animal was humanely killed with the assistance of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

After the animal was removed, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office dive team recovered the remains of the human body.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and the deceased person is yet to be identified, police said.
