By | October 6, 2023

Dangerous fire weather conditions will be possible on Saturday as very dry and windy conditions are expected in the wake of a cold front.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Southeast Alabama.

Fire Weather Watch is in effect for the Florida Panhandle, portions of the Florida Big Bend, and portions of Southwest Georgia.

Overview:

A cold front is forecast to push through the area overnight tonight with little to no rainfall expected along it.

Dry and breezy conditions are expected on Saturday in the wake of the front on top of dry soils with moderate to severe drought conditions ongoing.

Red flag conditions will be possible across much of the area on Saturday, although the greatest confidence currently exists across Southeast Alabama.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Southeast Alabama on Saturday. Further south and east, a Fire Weather Watch is in effect to encompass the possibility of dangerous fire weather conditions that may not quite reach red flag criteria.

Elevated fire weather concerns will likely extend into Sunday, although winds are not forecast to be as breezy.
