Jimmy Cooper, age 72, of Bonifay, Florida passed away October 28, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born October 4, 1951, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to the late Clyde Cooper and Etheline Mitchell Cooper.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Tremblay and Angeline Paul and a special brother-in-law, Mike Bruner.
Jimmy was a devoted husband and beloved father of four daughters, he leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Jimmy’s work ethic shone through his roles as a diligent logger and skilled welder. A true outdoorsman, he found solace in the quiet joys of fishing and hunting, often sharing his bounties with loved ones.
His passion for gardening and preserving its harvest through canning reflected his deep connection to the land. Jimmy found joy and treasured every moment spent with his adored grandchildren, as well as his family and friends.
His infectious smile and unwavering happiness will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Cooper of Bonifay, FL; four daughters, Regina Day and husband Tony, Charlotte Baine and husband Bobby, Deanna Pate and husband Billy and Selena Forehand and husband Clint all of Bonifay, FL; one brother, Donnie Cooper of Bonifay, FL; five sisters, Hazel Cook of Panama City, FL, Kathy Bruner of Panama City, FL, Aileen Steward and husband Keith of Milton, FL, Magline Carnley and husband Junior of Bonifay, FL, and Sharon Scott and husband Billy of Bonifay, FL; sixteen grandchildren, Dustin Day, Dalton Day and wife Kristen, Quentin Baine and wife Andrea, Bryson Baine, Kolby Pate, Katey Pate, Shea Pate, Savannah Pate, Kayla Pate, Cayson Forehand, Jakin Forehand, Sawyer Forehand, Georgia Forehand, Sierra Gery, Lila Gery, and Evan Gery; twelve great-grandchildren, Dawson, Emmaline, Cooper, Daxton, Kort, Kenadee, Kendon, Kennie, Kalayah, Trayson, Remi, and Kyren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Grace Fellowship Christian Church. Interment will follow in the Sellers Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM at Grace Fellowship Christian Church.
