A Holmes County man is behind bars after a traffic stop yields methamphetamine.
At approximately 7 a.m. this morning, a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop near St. Mary’s Rd. and Camilla Circle. Deputies made contact with the driver, 36-year-old, James Russell Marcum.
During the stop, a brief record check revealed Marcum had an active warrant out of Holmes County for driving while license suspended or revoked. Marcum was detained but requested his jacket from the vehicle. When deputies retrieved the jacket, they located a white pill known as hydrocodone in a clear plastic bag.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and located inside the vehicle was a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance that field tested positive for Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Marcum was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of DWLSR and possession of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
