A man responsible for stealing a pair of lady’s boots from a local department store is being sought by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Just before 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 2nd, a WCSO deputy responded to The Westerner on U.S. 90 in Chipley after receiving a report of a theft. Store employees assisted a male subject with several different items in the store. When it came time to purchase the items the subject stated he had left his wallet in the vehicle and went to retrieve it. As he exited the store, employees noticed something bulging under his jacket and asked him to stop.
Later, store video surveillance captured images of a white male, standing approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, walk by the checkout counter and exit the store. He then got into a dark colored sedan with unknown plates, at which time the vehicle left the parking lot headed east on U.S. 90. Store employees advised deputies that the subject had taken a pair of ladies Corral Handmade Ankle boots.
