On Thursday, November 16, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies received reports that Zeffrey Lane Moss was threatening to harm a victim with a baseball bat at a home in Marianna.
When deputies arrived, they were told that Moss had fled into the woods on foot, and they were given a description of his clothing.
The K-9 Tracking Unit and Drone Unit were notified and deployed at Moss’s last location.
While searching for Moss, a citizen notified deputies that they saw a suspicious person matching Moss’s description on Laramore Road.
Investigators made contact with Moss and confirmed his identity.
When they attempted to place Moss under arrest, he resisted. Deputies then located drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine in Moss’s pocket.
Moss was arrested and is being charged with Aggravated Assault, Resisting an Officer Without Violence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Methamphetamine.
