Charley Lester Herring Jr., 77 of Bonifay, Florida Passes on November 23, 2023

Charley Lester Herring Jr., age 77, of Bonifay, Florida passed away November 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
 
He was born September 26, 1946, in Bonifay to the late Charley Lester Herring Sr and Martha Price Herring.
 
A devoted family man and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Bonifay. Charley found joy in fishing, gardening, and riding horses. Before retirement, he crisscrossed the country behind the wheel of 18-wheelers.
 
His most cherished roles were being a daddy and a papa. For nearly 55 years, he walked hand in hand with his wife, who was his best friend and love of his life. He enjoyed finding solace in their family land, where he was born and peacefully passed over to the Lord.
 
Charley’s strong and unwavering faith, coupled with a deep love for God, illuminated his life. He was a beacon of kindness, avoiding conflict and embracing everyone without judgment. In times of need, he stood unwavering, offering his support to all who sought it. Charley’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and a welcoming spirit that will be dearly missed.
 
Mr. Herring is survived by his wife Sharon Herring; three children, Daniel Herring and wife Dawn, Pattie Herring Gill and husband Brad, and Debbie Herring Riley and husband Joseph; seven grandchildren, Cody Stotler, Ethan Spears, Erica Spears, Shane Heinrich, Mason Herring, Malachi Herring, and Maddox Herring; seven great-grandchildren, Maelynn Stotler, Conard Stotler, Klohe Spears, Abel Spears, Kole Spears, Malana Herring, and Maverick Herring; four siblings, Tommie Herring and Patsy, Rosie Metcalf, Mary Mae Pettis, and Johnnie Mae Peters; numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Memorialization will be by cremation with Peel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
