On Sunday, December 3, 2023, at approximately 2030 hours, Deputy Ayers was conducting patrol in the area Kinard.
During this time, Deputy Ayers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. Deputy Ayers identified the driver as Rebecca Ann Ward and passenger as Ronald Benjamin Hathaway.
During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Ayers deployed K9 Olly to conduct a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle. Subsequently, K9 Olly did alert to the odor of narcotics within the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, Deputy Ayers located a bag containing methamphetamine, numerous glass pipes, and ammunition.
Deputy Ayers found probable cause to charge Rebecca Ann Ward with being in violation of the following Florida State Statutes:
F.S.S. §893.13(6)(a) – Possession of Methamphetamine
F.S.S. §893.147(1) – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
F.S.S. §322.34(2) – DWLSR with Knowledge
Deputy Ayers also found probable cause to charge Ronald Benjamin Hathaway with being in violation of the following Florida State Statutes:
F.S.S. §893.13(6)(a) – Possession of Methamphetamine
F.S.S. §893.147(1) – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
F.S.S. §790.23(1)(A) – Possession of Ammunition by Convicted Felon
