Two Bainbridge, GA residents were arrested early this morning after deputies located a large amount of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on State Rd. 79 near Ebro.
The driver of the vehicle later identified as 19 year-old Jaquarious M. Anderson, failed to stop immediately and continued traveling South on State Rd. 79. Once stopped, deputies made contact with the occupants and smell the odor of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle.
The deputy asked the two front seat occupants to exit the vehicle and in plain site observed a clear plastic bag with suspected methamphetamine. The deputy attempted to detain the passenger and the passenger began to resist arrest.
The deputy deployed a department issue taser to subdue the subject at which time he was detained.
All other occupants of the vehicle were also detained.
During the investigation the passenger that resisted, 30-year-old John H. Ware IV became unresponsive demonstrating signs of a possible Fentanyl exposure and was transported to the nearest hospital for medical evaluation.
Once stabilized, Ware was found to be in possession of a blue pill that tested positive for Herion by the Panama City Beach PD. The deputy in this case also started experiencing similar signs of exposure and was medically evaluated.
A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted and deputies located a large amount of methamphetamine, a bag containing a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.
The narcotics located inside the vehicle later field tested positive methamphetamine.
Anderson and another occupant of the vehicle, 21-year-old, Jadlin L. King were taken into custody and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell or distribute, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
