Roy Alphonso Mott III, 76 of Fountain, Florida Passes on December 20, 2023

Roy Alphonso Mott III “Buddie” 76 of Fountain, Florida went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2023, at his residence.

Buddie was born on November 4, 1947, in Selma, Alabama to Roy Alphonso Mott Jr. and Katie Louise Mott (Ennis). Buddie served in the United States Navy for five years and was of the Nazarene faith. He was very talented; he was a Master wood carver and welded in his younger years. Buddie loved to spend his time outdoors hunting and fishing, eating his black jellybeans and making his homemade wine. Most of all, he loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Katie Mott; wife: Sara Marie Mott; son: Roy Alphonso Mott IV “Bubba”; brother: Charles Glynn Mott; grandchild: Anthony E.C. Hinds; brother-in-law: Bill M. Burt, Jack Redd.

He is survived by his daughters: Audrey E. Johns (Mott) of Chipley, Florida, Rebecca A. Winn and husband John of Lafayette, Louisiana, Rachel Lynn Reid Sebren of Selma, Alabama; brother: Robert L. Mott and lifelong companion Annette of Selma, AL; sisters: Vicki J. Burt  of Plainfield, IL, Nancy E. Redd of Hoover, AL; sister-in-law: Ruth Ann Mott of Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren: Katie Crutchfield, Gabrielle Black, Brittany Trahan, Stephanie Hollier, Cloe Mott, Riley Mott, Trent Sebren, Colby Sebren, Regan Sebren; great grandchildren: MaKayla Roche, Jaxton Crutchfield, Axl Crutchfield, Huxley Hogue, Miya Clouse, Hunter Clouse, Jay Caffery, Lucas Hollier, Linkin Hollier.

Service will be held 12 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Obert Funeral Home Chapel (731 Kirkland Road Chipley, Florida) with Pastor Shane Obert officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.

The family will receive friends for visitation from one hour prior to the service at Obert Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will be receiving friends and family at Buddie Mott house directly after the service.
