On January 2, 2024, investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a male riding a bicycle near the intersection of Hwy 79 and Hwy 90.

The male, later identified as Christopher Lamson of Bonifay, informed investigators he had a pipe used to smoke marijuana on his person and gave it to investigators. A probable cause search of his person was completed, and investigators moved to then search a backpack Lamson was carrying.

Lamson became agitated and investigators attempted to place him in restraints while he began resisting and refusing to follow verbal commands. During the altercation, Lamson repeatedly tried to knock down an investigator by grabbing his legs and pulling the badge the investigator was wearing on a chain around his neck. Lamson was eventually restrained and placed in the back seat of a patrol vehicle.

While investigators were attempting to restrain Lamson, a female identified as Rebecca Lamson approached the scene. At the instruction of Mr. Lamson, she grabbed the backpack and marijuana pipe and fled on foot. Mrs. Lamson was quickly located on Hwy 90 and taken into custody.

A search of the backpack produced several individual clear baggies of methamphetamine packaged for sale, another container of methamphetamine, an additional glass pipe containing methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and additional items of drug paraphernalia. Both Christopher and Rebecca Lamson were arrested and taken to the Holmes County Jail.

Mr. Lamson is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer with violence.

Mrs. Lamson is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence.
