Michiko Johnson, 90, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2024 at Billy Johnson’s home in Wetumpka, Alabama.
Michiko Kobayashi Johnson was born in Tokyo, Japan on March 16, 1933. She was married to her husband, the late Larry Maxwell (Mack) Johnson, for 66 years. Mack Johnson preceded her in death on November 28, 2021. She was a loving mother, a loving wife, and she also helped her beloved husband Mack Johnson take care of the small farm that they shared. She was an excellent cook and for a few years she worked in a grocery store as a cake decorator. One of her proudest accomplishments was when she became a citizen of the United States. It took many years for her to get her citizenship, but she knew it was worth it so she worked hard to become a citizen of the United States. She was a long-standing member of Lovewood Free Will Baptist Church in Cottondale, Florida.
She is survived by her loving son Henry Johnson, his wife Tammy Johnson: his son Jonathan Johnson as well as Jonathan’s children Lennon and Magnolia; also his daughter Kerri and her husband Brandon Malory and their son Emmerson; and also his step daughters Arielle and Melody Ganey. She is also survived by her loving daughter Carolyn Kersey and her stepchildren Brandi Kersey and Brandon Parmer. Finally she is survived by her loving son Billy Johnson and his wife Teresa and their family includes his son Zachary Johnson and his wife Kirsten and her sons Ian and Noel; his son Stuart Johnson; his son Jared Johnson and his wife Karen; and his daughter Miranda and her husband Riley Taylor.
Service will be held 2 pm Saturday January 20, 2024 at Lovewood Free Will Church in Cottondale, Florida with Pastor Mike Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida will be directing the service.
