Aline Walsingham Strickland, 88 of Chipley, Florida, Passes on January 11, 2024, at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center

Aline Walsingham Strickland, 88 of Chipley, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2024, at the Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center. 

Aline was born on January 9, 1936, in Washington County, Florida to Harvey Walsingham and Betty Dee Carter. Aline attended First United Methodist Church in Chipley, Florida when she was able and was employed by the Holmes County School Board. She was the most happy when she was caring for others, often putting others’ needs above her own. Aline was a wonderful cook and would never let you leave her home hungry. Most of all she loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Harvey and Betty Walsingham; son: Donnie Ray Strickland; brother: Rev. Troy Lee Walsingham; sister: Charlotte Rogers. 

She is survived by her sons: James Strickland (Barbara) of Chipley, FL, Danny Ray Strickland (Angie) of Perry, GA; brothers: Donal Walsingham (Beverley) of Mississippi, Carthel Walsingham (Diane) of Wausau, FL, John Earl Walsingham (Shirley) of Wausau, FL; sister-in-law: Janel Walsingham of Dothan, AL; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. 

Service will be held 2:30 Sunday, January 14, 2024, at First Free Will Baptist Church in Chipley, FL with Pastor John Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Wausau Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing. 

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
