On January 30, 2024, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle with no tag lights and conducted a traffic stop.
Contact was made with the driver, identified as Eric Shaddix of Westville. A check with dispatch showed that Shaddix’s license was suspended.
Deputies noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked Shaddix if anyone had been smoking.
He stated that he had a medical marijuana card but did not have it with him, and that he had smoked earlier.
Shaddix was asked to exit the vehicle and a search of his person was conducted. During the search, deputies discovered six pills that Shaddix stated were Lortab.
Deputies then searched the vehicle, where they found a small baggie of cocaine and a small baggie of methamphetamine.
Eric Shaddix was arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail. He is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and possession of a schedule II controlled substance (Lortab).
