If you are allegedly in possession of allegedly illegal drugs, it may not be the wisest course of action to allegedly drive 105 miles per hour.

A Jackson County man is behind bars and facing drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Washington County.

At approximately 10:45 a.m., this morning, an investigator with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office observed an orange Lexus sports car approaching and passing him as they were both traveling North on State Rd. 277. The investigator initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle that was traveling in excess of 105 miles per hour.  As deputies made contact with the male subject in the vehicle, they noticed an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in 22-year-old Dy’Quarios Dy’Quan Smith, being taken into custody after investigators located several illegal items inside the vehicle.

Smith was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of a new legend drug without a prescription.
