On February 21, 2024, Jackson County, Florida Sheriff’s deputies responded to a local business in reference to a fraudulent check being used to purchase a flatbed trailer.
The business owner provided investigators with a copy of the alleged I.D. of the person who purchased the trailer in December 2023.
Investigators quickly determined that the I.D. presented to the business owner during the purchasing process did not belong to the customer, and the customer’s real name was Randy Terrell Pressley, of Dothan, AL.
Investigators also discovered that Pressley had stolen the identity of a victim and was using their I.D. to make purchases in Dothan.
Pressley was also found to have used the victim’s identity to apply for a home loan in North Carolina.
A warrant was obtained for Pressley’s arrest, and he was arrested and is being charged in Jackson County for Grand Theft – greater than $5,000, less than $10,000; Uttering a Forged Instrument; and Criminal Use of Personal Identification Information.
