Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Holmes and Washington counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Holmes County:
- State Road (S.R.) 2 Resurfacing from Choctawhatchee River Bridge to County Road (C.R.) 177 and from Ten Mile Creek to the Jackson County Line – Drivers will encounter daytime, alternating lane closures on S.R. 2, between Ten Mile Creek and the Jackson County line, Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Construction crews will be working on the roadway shoulders and installing guardrails. In addition, intermittent nighttime lane closures for roadway milling and resurfacing will occur between the Choctawhatchee River Bridge and C.R. 177, Sunday, March 24 through Friday, March 29 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Directional signage and traffic flagmen will be used to safely direct drivers through these work zones.
Washington County:
- U.S. 90 Resurfacing from Four-Lane to the Jackson County Line – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. for paving operations. Directional signage and traffic flaggers will be used to safely direct drivers through these work zones.
- U.S. 90 Resurfacing from east of Holmes Creek Bridge to S.R. 277 – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for paving operations. Directional signage and traffic flaggers will be used to safely direct drivers through these work zones.
- S.R. 77 widening north of Rodgers Road to south of Cane Mill Road – The southbound lane of S.R. 77 will be closed between Cane Mill Road and Hagan Road Monday, March 25 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Construction crews will install low profile barrier walls. Traffic flaggers and signage will be in place to safely direct drivers through the work zone.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
