Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Brittany Mixon for Child Neglect, Firearm, Methamphetamine, Etc.

On April 18, 2024, deputies from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of illegal drug activity at 1254 Hwy 179.
 
Upon arrival, deputies were greeted at the door by a four-year-old child. Subsequent contact was made with the mother, Brittany Mixon.
 
During their interaction with Ms. Mixon, deputies observed suspected drugs and paraphernalia in plain view within the residence.
 
Ms. Mixon admitted to destroying drugs by flushing them down the toilet and disclosed the presence of a concealed firearm inside a child’s stuffed animal.
 
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence, leading to the discovery of over eight grams of methamphetamine retrieved from the toilet. Additionally, the concealed firearm was successfully located within the stuffed animal.
 
As a result of these findings, Ms. Brittany Mixon, a convicted felon, was placed under arrest and charged with the following offenses:
Possession of methamphetamine
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Tampering with evidence
Child neglect
