On April 22, 2024, a deputy conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle traveling along Hwy 81, driven by Wesley Ledbetter.
During the stop, Mr. Ledbetter informed the deputy that he did not possess a valid driver’s license, leading to his detainment.
Subsequently, the passenger, identified as Abbie Tidwell, was asked to exit the vehicle to facilitate a search. Upon searching the vehicle, law enforcement discovered an orange container on the passenger seat containing methamphetamine. Further investigation revealed a flower bag containing methamphetamine hidden under the front seat. Ms. Tidwell claimed ownership of the drugs located during the search.
Additionally, near the location where Ms. Tidwell was standing, law enforcement discovered a crushed glass pipe that she attempted to destroy.
As a result of these findings, the following charges were filed:
Wesley Ledbetter: Charged with driving while license suspended.
Abbie Tidwell: Charged with possession of methamphetamine, tampering with evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
