Jackson County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests for Failure to Register As Sex Offender

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by an outside law enforcement agency and made aware that a convicted sex offender, Barry Joe Gay, had recently begun living in Jackson County. Gay is a sex offender from Texas with a lifetime requirement to register as a sex offender.
 
Gay had not registered as a sex offender in Jackson County in the appropriate time frame, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
 
On Friday, May 3, deputies located Gay at an address in Graceville and arrested him. Gay is being charged with Sexual Offender Failure to Register.
