A Vernon man is behind bars after a traffic stop yields methamphetamine.
At approximately 11:45 a.m., May 8th, a Washington County Sheriff’s Investigator was conducting a follow-up investigation in the Vernon area when he noticed a male subject on a moped traveling down the wrong side of the road. A traffic stop was initiated near State Rd. 79 and Dawkins Street in Vernon. Investigators made contact with the driver, 57-year-old Leland Bynum.
A search was conducted, and Bynum was found to be in possession of a smoking device and a white crystal substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamines.
Bynum was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
