On Wednesday, June 5, around 7 p.m., a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling U.S. 231 near Pike Pond Road, when he saw a vehicle with a busted windshield and an expired tag. When the deputy made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Wendy Hagan (driver), Gabriel Reece (front passenger), and Albert Brincefield (back passenger), they discovered Hagan’s driver’s license was suspended in 2021, and cancelled in 2022. The deputy also noticed the registration sticker on the license plate had been altered with a permanent marker.
A search of Reece’s information revealed that there was an active warrant for his arrest out of Washington County, Fla. Additional units were called to the scene to assist, and all occupants were removed from the vehicle.
K-9 Rocky was deployed to conduct a sniff of the vehicle and provided positive alerts for the odor of narcotics in several different areas of the vehicle. When deputies searched the vehicle, they located a rubber green case containing methamphetamine in the glovebox; a glass smoking pipe containing residue of methamphetamine in the back seat; and a green zipper pouch with a glass smoking pipe containing residue of methamphetamine in the driver’s floorboard.
Hagan, Reece, and Brincefield were arrested and transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility. Upon arrival, they were asked if they had anything concealed on their persons, and Hagan responded yes. Hagan then removed 5 clear plastic baggies from her waistline. One of the baggies contained approximately 2.2 grams of methamphetamine, and two baggies contained a tan powder residue, later identified as fentanyl and cocaine. The two additional baggies contained a clear residue but were not field tested for law enforcement’s safety.
Hagan is being charged with Knowingly Driving While License Suspended or Revoked, Delivery of Methamphetamine, Possession and / or Use of Drug Paraphernalia, and Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility.
Reece is being charged with Possession and / or Use of Drug Paraphernalia.
Brincefield is being charged with Possession and / or Use of Drug Paraphernalia.
