Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Christine Furman for Suspected Smuggling of Contraband

On June 9, 2024, a deputy from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was called to the Holmes Correctional Institution regarding a visitor, Christine Furman, suspected of smuggling contraband.

Institution staff reported that Furman was seen passing items to her son, an inmate during visitation. A search of the inmate revealed 68 grams of a synthetic controlled substance.

Furman admitted to smuggling the contraband and was detained. She was subsequently arrested and charged with smuggling contraband into a correctional facility and trafficking in a controlled substance.
