Ashlynn Marquez Announces Bid for Washington County, Florida District 1 Commissioner

By | June 15, 2024
Hello Voters of Washington County!

I am Ashlynn (Casey) Marquez, and I am running for Washington County Commissioner District 1. For those who may not know me, I’d like to share a bit about myself, my background, and my deep-rooted connections to this beautiful county.

I am a wife, mother of three, and the owner of Styling Station Salon and Spa. I’ve been a cosmetologist and self-employed for over 23 years. Located in the heart of Chipley, in the historic Watford’s Drugs building.

Our business provides a space for 15 independent contractors to work. Our salon is the longest operating salon in Chipley for over 31 years.

My family has strong ties to this area, which many of you might recognize. My grandparents, Eddie and Jo Davis, owned the Chuck Wagon in Chipley for many years, and later the Oaks in Marianna. They opened the restaurant when I was three years old and sold it well into my adulthood.

Growing up in that restaurant taught me valuable lessons about hard work and community service. At a young age I learned to do nearly every job there, helping to run the restaurant alongside my family.

Working in the service industry from such a young age instilled in me the importance of treating people well. I got to know many people in this community, probably having taken some of your orders before I could even write.

These experiences taught me the value of hard work and the joy of serving others. As a local business owner, I’ve carried these service principles into my own business.

Whether in the restaurant or the salon, I’ve found that success comes from following a few simple rules: Treat people with respect, listen to their needs, and do your best to help them.

I have always wanted to serve and be around the people of this community. I am committed to be responsive and present.

Caring, listening, and working hard to solve problems. I may not have all the answers, but I am dedicated to finding solutions and helping those I meet along the way.

Thank you for your support, and I look forward to serving you as Washington County Commissioner for District 1.

Sincerely,
Ashlynn Casey Marquez
