The Spanish Trail Playhouse is excited to announce auditions for its upcoming production of “Into the Woods,” scheduled for Monday, July 8, 2024, at 6:00 PM. Auditions will be held at the Spanish Trail Playhouse, located at 680 2nd Street, Chipley, Florida, 32428.
All Individuals aged 13 and up are invited to audition. No prior acting or music experience is necessary, making this a wonderful opportunity for both seasoned performers and newcomers to the stage. The auditions will include singing and readings from the script.
Under the direction of Kevin Russell with Music Direction by Kristi Hinson, “Into the Woods” is a Tony Award-winning musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine. The story intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. Key characters include Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (of beanstalk fame), and Rapunzel, all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife and their wish to begin a family. Their journey into the woods to break a witch’s curse brings them face-to-face with magic, mystery, and unexpected challenges, ultimately revealing that even fairy tale characters must deal with the complexities of real life and the unforeseen consequences of their actions.

Those wishing to audition are encouraged to arrive no less than 15 minutes early to ensure they are ready for their audition time. Additionally, participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement.
