Chipley, Florida businessman Dennis LaRue walked away with the biggest watermelon at the 2022 Panhandle Watermelon Festival ‘Watermelon Auction’ fundraiser on Saturday, June 25, 2022 with a winning bid of six thousand dollars on the cucurbit weighing over 100 pounds, as seen in the photos (below) by Paul Goulding Photography.
This year’s (2024) Watermelon Auction at the Washington County, Florida Ag Center promises to be a big one, with political candidates vying for attention and bragging rights.
