Washington County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Kyle Michael Porter, 24 of Chipley, Florida on Manslaughter Charges

An arrest has been made following an investigation into the death of a Panama City man.

Early this morning, Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kyle Michael Porter, 24, of Chipley, FL in connection with the death of Randy Joseph Lynn.

WCSO received a call on April 27th in reference to a shooting that had occurred on Diamond Head Lake. According to the evidence and statements given, three coworkers and social acquaintances were together at Porter’s house for a day of fishing and socializing when they became intoxicated, and an altercation erupted. Porter produced a firearm during the alteration and fired, striking Lynn who succumbed to his injuries.

Porter’s wife stated her husband called her from their dock and asked her to call law enforcement and an ambulance because he had just shot someone. When WCSO deputies arrived, all parties involved were still present.

After an extensive investigation, WCSO investigators concluded their investigation with Porter being charged with one count of manslaughter for the death of Mr. Lynn.

Porter was booked into the Washington County Jail where he is currently awaiting bond.
