Town of Wausau, Florida Seeks 28-Hour Town Deputy Clerk @ $15 Hourly Plus Benefits

The Town of Wausau is currently accepting applications for a Deputy Clerk position.

This position is for 28 hours per week and requires a high level of interaction with the public and knowledge of basic office programs.

The position includes completing accurate billing of the utility customers and maintaining utility accounts through data entry.

Other duties may be assigned to ensure the timely and uninterrupted flow of town business.

Work is performed under the supervision of the Town Clerk and is generally performed in an office setting, but occasional field work may be required.

Applicant must pass a background check, drug screen and be bondable.

Minimum Training and Experience:

  • Knowledge of business math and accounting principals

  • Knowledge of daily operations and activities of customer service.

  • Ability to learn town rates, ordinances, and billing policies.

  • Knowledge of computer systems.

  • Ability to communicate with various individuals

  • Ability to handle complaints and difficult individuals.

  • Skills in the operation of office technology.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma.

  • Two (2) years of billing or customer service experience preferred
