Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Holmes and Washington counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
In preparation for the Independence Day holiday, there will be no lane closures on major state roads from 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, July 7.
Holmes County:
- State Road (S.R.) 2 Resurfacing from Choctawhatchee River Bridge to County Road 177 and from Ten Mile Creek to the Jackson County Line – S.R. 2 drivers will encounter alternating lane closures from Saturday, June 29 through Tuesday, July 2, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for striping, sign installation, and general clean up.
Washington County:
- U.S. 90 Resurfacing from S.R. 277 (Vernon Highway) to the end of the Four-Lane east of Chipley – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 2 for paving operations.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
