Extremely dangerous category 4 Hurricane Beryl is approaching the Windwards Island.

Life-threatening winds and storm surge are expected there beginning early Monday morning

As of now – Beryl has sustained winds of 130 mph. Life-threatening winds and storm surge are expected in areas of the Windward Islands by early Monday morning.

A hurricane warning has been issued for Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Tobago, Grenada, and the Grenadine Islands.

Beryl is moving toward the west at 21 mph. A continued quick westward to west-northwestward motion is expected during the next few days.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles.

On the forecast track, the center of Beryl is expected to move across the Windward Islands early on Monday and across the southeastern Caribbean Sea Monday night and Tuesday.

Beryl is expected to produce rainfall totals of 3-6″ with maximum amounts of 10 inches.
