Maxine Edenfield Morris, 82 of Cottondale, Florida Passes on July 5, 2024

Maxine Edenfield Morris 82, of Cottondale, Florida went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. 

Maxine was born on May 31, 1942 in Grand Ridge, Florida to Malcom “Mack” Edenfield and Dosha Dudley. Maxine was a lifelong resident of The Panhandle; moving from Grand Ridge to Cottondale 60 Plus years ago. She married the love of her life, Pug Morris, in Donaldsonville, Georgia on December 10, 1960 and they built a beautiful life together.

Through the years Maxine enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. She was a member of Salem Free Will Baptist Church, and in her years of serving, many friendships were established. Maxine worked as a bus driver for the Jackson County School Board, where she retired.  Her heart was to serve, and one of the ways she impacted lives most was through her delicious cooking. Whether it be a church event, or someone in need; she always put others before herself. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Mack and Dosha Edenfield; infant son: William Jr. Morris; siblings: Howard Edenfield, Laverne Edenfield, Albernie “Bull” Edenfield, Carl Edenfield, Donald Edenfield, Lee Edenfield, Cawien Wilson, Gwen Blocker, Irene Mumford, Voncil Parker, Ronald Edenfield, Raymond Edenfield.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years: William “Pug” Morris; son: William E. Morris (Vicki) of Cottondale, Florida; daughter: Elaine Morris Smith (Eric) of Fritch, Texas; sister: Ima Jean Banks of Grand Ridge, Florida; grandchildren: Brianna Holseberg, Ethan Morris, Gabe Smith, Eli Morris, Cody Smith; great grandchild: Levi Holseberg. 

Service will be held 2PM Monday, July 8 , 2024 at Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Cottondale, Florida with Bro. JW Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing. 

The family will receive friends for visitation 3-5 PM  Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Salem Free Will Baptist Church.
