The 2024 Wausau Possum Festival will take place as usual on the first Saturday of August, this year falling on August 3.
However, due to health concerns amidst the COVID fiasco, the 2020 Wausau Possum Festival King and Queen Contest was converted to a ‘virtual’ or online presentation by contestants, with a $500 first prize along with bragging rights as King or Queen of ‘One of the Most Unique Festivals in the World (according to Woman’s Day Magazine)’.
