Spanish Trail Playhouse is proud to announce the cast of their upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim’s beloved musical, Into the Woods. This enchanting tale, known for its witty lyrics and captivating story, will come to life on the Spanish Trail Playhouse stage with performances scheduled for September 13, 14, and 20-22, 2024.
Under the Direction of Kevin Rusell with Music Direction by Kristi Hinson, the cast includes Nick Stewart as the Baker, Kortney Adcock as the Baker’s Wife, Brayden Garcia-Holliday as Jack, Rebecca Boggs as Jack’s Mother, Sydney Smith as Cinderella, Marlaina Register as Little Red Riding Hood, Hunter Williams as Cinderella’s Prince and the Wolf, Ethan Smith as Rapunzel’s Prince, Rob Nixon as the Narrator and Mysterious Man, Ashlyn Smith as the Witch, Keylin Parker as Rapunzel, Kay Thomas as Cinderella’s Stepmother, Sydney Stoermer as Florinda, Emma Rines as Lucinda, Tyler Sallas as the Steward & Cinderella’s Father, Isaiah Smelser as the puppeteer for Milky White, and Danielle Reyes as Cinderella’s Mother, the Giant, and Little Red Riding Hood’s Grandmother. Jeremy Clifton will serve as the Stage Manager for this production.
Please note that Into the Woods is rated PG-13 for its depiction of mild adult themes, making it suitable for audiences aged 13 and above.
Into the Woods intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. The narrative weaves together the story of a childless baker and his wife, who set off on a journey to break the curse placed on them by a vengeful witch. Along the way, they encounter classic characters such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (of Beanstalk fame), and Rapunzel. Each character has a wish they desperately seek to fulfill, leading them into the woods where their stories intersect unexpectedly and profoundly. The musical examines the complexity of human desires, the relationships between parents and children, and the reality that sometimes wishes come with a price.
