A Caryville man has been arrested on resisting an officer and drug charges.
On July 15th, while patrolling the area of State Rd. 90 and Wilcox Rd. in Caryville last night, a Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed a pedestrian traveling on a bicycle without proper illumination. Contact was made with the individual identified as 28-year-old, Corey Shae Wilson. During the stop, deputies observed Wilson to be nervous and became confrontational during questioning. Deputies apprehended Wilson for further investigation.
A Bonifay Police Department issued K-9 was requested and deployed which gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search resulted in deputies locating illegal items and a crystalized substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Wilson was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of resisting an officer without violence, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and introduction of contraband into a detention facility.
