Carl W. Phillips, 87 of Chipley, Florida, passed from this life on July 1, 2024 at his residence.
Carl was born on July 31, 1936, in Middleport, Ohio to Carl and Virgie Phillips. A resident of Washington County since 2003 coming from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While living in Fort Lauderdale Carl worked as a water plant operator for 30 years. Carl worked as a security guard at WestPoint, where he retired. He was a member of VFW in Chipley, Florida. Carl enjoyed spending his time on the water deep sea fishing. He loved his family and will be missed.
He was preceded In death by his parents: Carl and Virgie Phillips; brother: Clarence Austin Pierce; sisters: Clara Mae Osborne, Violet Marie Vanvleet
He is survived by his loving wife: Connie Phillips of Chipley, Florida; son: Truitt Phillips of Battle Creek, Michigan; daughter: Dawn Converse and husband Paul of Sherwood, Michigan; 5 grandchildren: Brian “BJ” John, Lacey Mae, Seth Connor, Meredith Ann, Tasha Marie; 17 great grandchildren.
Military Honors will be held 2 PM Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Obert Funeral Home Chapel (731 Kirkland Road) in Chipley, Florida with the visitation to follow until 4 PM. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.
