Holmes County Sheriff’s Office Arrests James McKnight on July 20, 2024 for Fleeing, Reckless Driving, Suspended License, Etc.

On July 20, 2024, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy observed a four-wheeler traveling down Hwy. 79 in Esto. The deputy initiated a traffic stop by activating his emergency lights and siren, but the driver refused to comply.

A pursuit was initiated and continued onto 1st Avenue, with the driver leaving the road and entering a field. The deputy followed, maintaining visual contact. The driver then attempted to exit the field onto John Clark Road but was traveling too fast and overshot the road, resulting in a crash.

The driver, identified as James McKnight, was immediately taken into custody. McKnight faces multiple charges, including fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, and violation of state probation.
