W. Charles Smith, age 79, of Bonifay, Florida passed away July 26, 2024, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Florida. He was born September 10, 1944, in Bonifay, Florida to the late Lewis Smith and Myrtice Ellis Smith.
Charles was the owner and operator of Smith Vault Company and a master block mason. Known for his love of the creek and fishing. His greatest joy, however, was his family and animals.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Rhonda Smith of Bonifay, FL; his brother, Haywood Smith and wife Melba of Bonifay, FL; four nephews, Wayne Smith and wife Barbara, Lucas Forthman and wife Krissy, Tucker Forthman, and Blaze Forthman; three great-nieces, Brandi Rotello and husband Ryan, Candice Wolff, and Parker Forthman; one great-nephew, Seth Smith; six great-great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Sue Forthman and husband Marcus of Bonifay, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 29, 2024, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bonifay Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM at Peel Funeral Home.
