On the night of July 30, 2024, an officer with the Chipley Police Department observed a vehicle traveling on 8th Street without a license plate.
The officer conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver was identified as Christopher Dyvig, who was found to have a suspended driver’s license.
K-9 Chase was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. During the traffic stop, Dyvig attempted to dispose of a container containing a methamphetamine pipe. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was not properly registered.
Dyvig was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Alter, destroy, conceal physical evidence
Failure to register a motor vehicle
Driving while license suspended (habitual traffic offender)
